Kamala stands with American Jews & Trump vilifies us

September 6, 2024

This week demonstrated the stark contrast between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, including as it relates to Israel. The execution of six hostages, including American Hersh Goldberg-Polin, was a painful reminder that we need a leader who strongly condemns Hamas as a terrorist organization, calls for the release of all remaining hostages, and understands the urgent need for a ceasefire. We need and deserve a president who stands with Jewish Americans and Israel, not one who repeatedly denigrates millions of American Jews.

Kamala Harris minced no words this week, condemning Hamas’s brutality and reaffirming her commitment to bringing all the hostages home. She spoke to Jon and Rachel – Hersh’s parents – and met with the U.S. hostage deal negotiation team in the Situation Room. Kamala Harris has demonstrated leadership on issues of importance to Jewish voters, and she shares our views and values. This was reaffirmed by the Second Gentleman’s powerful remarks this week at the national vigil honoring the life of Hersh and the other five Israeli victims of Hamas terror.

By stark contrast, Donald Trump responded to this tragic event with a single political post on “Truth” Social, which failed to mention Hamas, failed to mention the imperative of releasing the remaining 101 hostages, and failed to offer condolences or empathy. Donald Trump’s cold response to the killing of six hostages was illustrative of the comment made by his former national security advisor, John Bolton“Trump’s support for Israel in the first term is not guaranteed in the second term, because Trump’s positions are made on the basis of what’s good for Donald Trump, not on some coherent theory of national security.”

But that wasn’t all. Yesterday, Donald Trump spoke at the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) and the Economic Club of New York. In his speech in New York, Trump said he would remove sanctions on Iran and Russia. He then spoke with the RJC, where he repeatedly espoused multiple insults targeting Jews. Once again, he said that Jews who support Democrats “have to have your head examined.” He made a dual-loyalty accusation against American Jews. He repeated an ominous and baseless threat regarding what would happen to Israel if he isn’t elected in November.

We must do everything we can to keep Donald Trump, an antisemitic aspiring dictator, out of the White House. We must elect Kamala Harris, an empathetic, honest, and committed leader. Join us in doing something to elect Harris now.
